At this first stage, over 40 speakers are formally confirmed as participating at Rio2012, our congress created in partnership with Abrasco, to be held between 27-30 April 2012. Of these, the first group is shown here. They are as follows. César Victora of the University of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, current president of the International Epidemiology Association Marion Nestle of New York University, US, famous for her books Food Politics and What To Eat.. The French sociologist of cuisine, food and gastronomy, Claude Fischler. Tim Lang, co-author of Food Wars and professor of food policy at City University, London, UK. Renato Maluf, president of CONSEA, the Brazilian institute for food security. And secretary-general of the 2009 ICN in Bangkok, Thailand, Emorn Wasantwasut.
